Living in residence was one of the most rewarding parts of my university experience. As an out-of-province student, I was surprised by how quickly Ontario Hall felt like home. Being close to classes, having easy access to campus resources, and being part of a tight-knit community made the transition to university so much easier.

Academically, residence helped me stay on top of my studies—whether it was quick access to the library, study spaces, or having friends around for group study sessions. Socially, it gave me the chance to meet people from all walks of life, many of whom became my closest friends.

From my first year in Ontario Hall to my roles as a Soph and Don, I’ve made lifelong friends and unforgettable memories at every stage of residence life. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, helped me grow, and gave me opportunities to develop leadership skills through my involvement in residence programming.

Residence is more than just a place to live—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that helps you grow, connect, and thrive. Whether it’s your first year or you’re returning as an upper-year student, cherish every moment. You’ll have plenty of time to live off-campus, but only a few years to experience residence—make the most of it!
