The deadlines differ for incoming first-year and upper-year students. Upper-year students apply for Residence on a first-come, first-served basis so the prepayment deadline depends on when the application is submitted.Prepayments can be made in your myHousing Portal using a MasterCard or Visa credit card, or MasterCard or Visa debit card.Additional PaymentsFor making further payments towards your statement of account, please follow the payment methods listed on the Office of the Registrar's website. Please note that your residence charges will be combined with your tuition charges on one statement of account in your Student Center.Tenant InsuranceTenant InsuranceTenant insurance is a requirement for all students living in residence at Western. A fee of $85 plus PST is included with your residence room rates. Alternatively, if you hold an insurance policy that will cover you during your stay in residence, you are able to opt out. To opt out, you will be required to provide your policy information on the opt out form starting in late July. There is also a link provided in the Residence Onboarding Process. If you do not opt out before the deadline, enrollment is final and all premiums will be non-refundable.A complete description of the coverage provided under the program including all terms and conditions, policy provisions, limitations and exclusions, can be found on the Marsh Canada website.Students can report claims directly to the insurer, Excess Underwriting by phone or email.
